Jamie Carragher 'intrigued' by Erling Haaland transfer to Man City and says Darwin Nunez refreshes Liverpool's front three

Jamie Carragher says he is interested in how Erling Haaland will squeeze into Pep Guardiola's Manchester City yet accepts it is "incredible" that the striker is coming to the Premier League.

"It's a concern until the end of the Premier League," Carragher said cheerfully.

"We are discussing one of the world's greats early on, yet I don't figure anybody ought to be raising the white banner too soon on the grounds that it will be truly fascinating the way in which he squeezes into the group.

Carragher says those question marks over Haaland's capacity to slip into City's smooth style mean his marking doesn't ensure the group titles.

I really think Haaland coming in won't have that a very remarkable effect as far as the number of focuses they get. They generally get during the 90s for focuses in any case, which is a surprising accomplishment.

"He might have been gotten simply to have that effect in those games where they just missed the mark, perhaps more in the Champions League than the Premier League.

"He'll transform, he'll develop, he's still a long way to go, he's a youthful player. He'll learn from perhaps the best mentor in world football. He'll carry things to his game.

In the meantime, City's title rivals Liverpool have agreed with Benfica to sign striker Darwin Nunez in an arrangement worth up to £85m.

"Liverpool in all actuality does have to revive the bleeding edge as a result of the age of that front three who have been totally fabulous for the last four or five years with Liverpool.

"It is miserable to see it separated here and there yet it needed to reach a conclusion eventually.
